Frequently asked questions

The things people ask BaLinda before they book — what the consultation is for, what the current offer covers, which Forgotten Coast town suits your trip, and how to book a cruise yourself if you'd rather not wait for a quote.

Booking & fees

How a trip with BaLinda actually works, what it costs, and when money changes hands.

How does booking with Infinity Travel work?

Two ways, and you choose. BaLinda plans it: you send a quote request, she researches holds and options, and sends you a written plan with real pricing — then the reservation is placed once you approve it. Or you book the trip yourself in your private booking portal (there's a step-by-step cruise guide further down this page). Either way, BaLinda is the advisor on your file.

What does the $25 consultation fee cover?

It's BaLinda's professional planning fee — the time she spends checking live availability, comparing cabins and resorts, and writing your plan by hand. It's the only fee she charges. It is not a deposit on your trip and it is nonrefundable.

Do I pay any other fees to BaLinda?

No. There is no service charge, no booking fee and no upsell on top of your trip. What you pay is the trip price, plus the taxes and supplier fees that apply to it.

When are the deposit and the final payment due?

Those dates come from the supplier you book with, not from BaLinda. On a cruise, a deposit secures the sailing and the balance is usually due a few months before you sail. Your booking summary shows the exact amounts and dates — keep them somewhere you'll see them.

What's usually not included in a cruise price?

Gratuities, drinks and beverage packages, shore excursions, Wi-Fi, airfare, airport parking and travel insurance are normally extra. Before you commit, BaLinda writes down what is included and what is not, so nothing arrives as a surprise on board.

Can I change or cancel a booking?

Every supplier has its own rules, and they get stricter close to the travel date. Cancellation windows and penalties are written into the booking terms — read them before you pay, and ask BaLinda to walk you through yours in plain language.

Do you help with travel insurance?

Yes. BaLinda can add coverage through approved suppliers and explain what each policy actually covers. Several benefits depend on buying soon after your first deposit, so if you want insurance, ask early. Always read the policy itself.

When do I get my confirmation number and documents?

Once the supplier confirms your reservation. Cruise boarding documents usually arrive in the weeks before you sail. Your trip portal keeps the confirmation number, dates and payment schedule in one place.

Check a booking status
Does BaLinda handle flights, hotels and concerts too?

Yes — flights, hotels, all-inclusive resorts, Disney stays, cruises, concerts and events, and combined Florida beach + park + cruise trips. If it involves getting you somewhere, ask.

The October special

October special — $25 consultation fee waived — and a free gift with every trip, concert or event booked.

What is the October special?

Through October 31, 2026, the $25 consultation fee is waived, and every trip, concert or event booked comes with a free gift. You still get the full planning service — research, options, and a written quote from BaLinda.

See October deals
Does the offer cover concerts and events, or only trips?

Both. Any trip, concert or event you book through BaLinda while the special is live comes with the free gift.

When does the special end?

It switches itself off at the end of October 31, 2026. From November 1 the $25 consultation fee is back at checkout and any deal carrying an October offer-end date comes down automatically — nothing to remember or take down.

Is the consultation a deposit on my trip?

No. The consultation is a separate professional planning fee, not money toward your trip, and it's nonrefundable. Trip deposits go to the supplier and follow the supplier's rules.

I'd rather book it myself — does the special still apply?

The waiver is on BaLinda's planning consultation. If you book yourself in the portal there's no consultation to waive. If you want her research first, this month it costs nothing.

Forgotten Coast towns

Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas, Apalachicola and St. George Island — which one fits you.

What are the Forgotten Coast towns?

Five small Gulf-side towns in the Florida Panhandle, west of Panama City Beach: Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas, Apalachicola and St. George Island. Low buildings, wide sand, no high-rises and no traffic jam on the beach road — the pace is the point.

Open the Forgotten Coast guide
Who is Mexico Beach best for?

Old-Florida beach town — low-rise, walkable, no crowds, no high-rises. It suits Couples who want quiet over nightlife; Families with young kids and no interest in crowds; Multi-family groups renting one beach house together.

See Mexico Beach
Who is Port St. Joe best for?

A bay-front small town with a downtown, a marina and the Cape next door. It suits Families who want a town nearby, not just a beach; Boaters and anglers — the bay and marina are the draw; Groups who want houses plus somewhere to eat out.

See Port St. Joe
Who is Cape San Blas best for?

A peninsula of stilted beach houses, wild dunes and empty sand. It suits Families who want a private beach house, not a hotel; Three or four families sharing one large home; Couples wanting complete quiet.

See Cape San Blas
Who is Apalachicola best for?

Tin roofs, oyster houses, antique shops — the Forgotten Coast's small-town anchor. It suits Couples who want food, atmosphere and a walkable town; Anniversary and birthday weekends; Travelers doing a multi-stop Forgotten Coast road trip.

See Apalachicola
Who is St. George Island best for?

A barrier island of beach houses, a lighthouse and a state park at the end of the road. It suits Families who want a house on the sand; Couples who want beach days plus a real dinner town nearby; Groups sharing a big Gulf-front home.

See St. George Island
Which town is calmest for a quiet or romantic trip?

Mexico Beach and St. George Island are the still, slow picks; Cape San Blas is the closest thing on this coast to a barrier-island escape. Tell BaLinda who's traveling and what you want the days to feel like and she'll narrow it to one town.

Take the beach matchmaker
Which town is best for fishing?

Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach both put you on the water fast — shallow bays and inshore passes, plus offshore runs for snapper and grouper in season. There are fewer charters here than in Destin, so good dates get taken early.

Can we get married on the Forgotten Coast?

Yes. Small beach weddings — roughly 10 to 60 guests, ceremony on the sand, reception at a rental or a local venue — are a natural fit here. Guest lodging is the part that fills first, so a group that books a cluster of houses early has an easier time of it.

Ask about a beach wedding
What's the best time of year to visit?

Spring and fall are the comfortable middle: warm water, thinner crowds. Summer is hot and humid with afternoon storms, and it is hurricane season. Winter is mild and quiet — and a popular stretch for longer stays.

How do I get there?

Most people fly into a Florida Panhandle airport and drive from there. Tell BaLinda where you're flying and who's coming and she'll tell you which of the five towns makes the drive and the lodging easiest.

Is it better than Destin or Panama City Beach?

Different, not better. If you want nightlife, big resorts and shopping, PCB and Destin are the answer. If you want a quiet beach, a beach house and a slow pace, this coast is.

Booking a cruise yourself

A plain-English walkthrough of the self-serve booking portal, and the four things to check before you pay.

Can I book a cruise myself without paying for a consultation?

Yes. Members get a private booking portal where you can search live sailings, compare cabins and pay a deposit yourself. No consultation fee is involved when you book your own trip.

Open the booking portal
Why would I ask BaLinda before booking myself?

Because the portal shows the shelf price. BaLinda checks whether your sailing has a better rate, a cabin actually worth the difference, or an inclusion you'd otherwise miss — and if a date or a cruise line is the wrong fit for your group, she'll say so before you hand over a deposit. A message first costs nothing.

Ask before I book
The portal price is different from BaLinda's quote. Which one is right?

Both can be real. Prices move with cabin category, promotion windows, taxes and how many people are in the cabin. Send her both screenshots and she'll tell you which one to take and why.

What should I check before I pay in the portal?

Four things: the deposit and final-payment dates, the cancellation window, what's included versus extra (gratuities, drinks, Wi-Fi, excursions, parking, airfare), and whether the cabin is guaranteed or assigned later. If any of that is unclear, stop and ask.

What if I book the wrong thing?

Contact the booking system's support line first — for a reservation you placed yourself, that's the fastest route to a change — then tell BaLinda what happened so your trip file stays accurate. Changes close to the sail date usually cost money, so raise it early rather than waiting.

Is the booking portal the same as this website?

No — it's the separate booking system BaLinda's agency works with. You reach it from the Book online button in the top bar and it opens in a new tab. This site's sign-in and the portal are two different logins.

Step by step

How to book a cruise yourself

Seven steps, about twenty minutes, no consultation required. Do the fifth one properly and most later problems never happen.

  1. 1
    Create your free account

It takes about a minute. Prices, the deal pages and the booking portal all sit behind a free member sign-in.

  2. 2
    Open the booking portal

Tap Book online in the top bar. It opens your own private booking page in a new tab.

    Book online
  3. 3
    Search the way you'll travel

Pick your departure port, the month, and the true number of people. Booking for three or four in a cabin prices differently than two — enter the real party.

  4. 4
    Compare sailings and cabins

The same ship prices very differently by date and cabin category. Read what's included on each fare before you decide the cheap one is the deal.

  5. 5
Read the terms before you pay

Deposit amount, final-payment date, cancellation window, and what's extra. This is the step people skip and then call about.

  6. 6
    Book and pay the deposit

You should see a confirmation number on screen or receive it by email. Save it — it's how anyone looks your reservation up.

  7. 7
    Send BaLinda the confirmation

She reviews the reservation, flags anything worth changing while it's still cheap to change, and keeps your dates and balance in your trip file.

    Send it to BaLinda

Still not sure?

Send BaLinda a sentence about where you're thinking of going and when. She'll tell you honestly whether it's worth paying for planning — or whether booking it yourself is the smarter move.

Prices and availability come from the suppliers and change until a reservation is confirmed. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of a fare, a cabin or a date.
